Sam Hoger

Professor Sam Hoger has been involved in martial arts for most of his life and has been studying Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for over 15 years. His training first began in Karate at the age of six to thirteen and then at fourteen he decided to begin studying jiu-jitsu under Professor Ted Stickel.

In July 2009, Sam Hoger was awarded his black belt by Professor Stickel, certified as a Gracie Barra jiu-jitsu instructor and awarded his first degree by Professor Monteiro who received his black belt by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. the head of Gracie Barra.

Prof. Hoger has a black belt in Karate and Tae Kwon Do.

Prof. Hoger is a Miletich Elite Pro Team Member

Sam Hoger is the only MMA Instructor in Houston, TX to have fought for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and to continue to train and compete regularly.

» Assistant Instructor -Wrestling:

Brett Robinson

Brett Robinson began his career in Amarillo, TX where he was a four time Academic All State wrestler, two time High School State Champion, Texas State Wrestler of the Year, All American and 3rd in the US Junior Olympics.
                Robinson continued on to wrestle for one year at Nebraska and then at the University of Oklahoma.  During his time at Oklahoma he trained under world renowned Coach Joe Seay.  He became a four time Greco, Freestyle and Sombo State Champ as well as two time Greco and Freestyle National Champ and three time Sombo National Champ.  He then won the honor of two time Sombo World Trial Champ, Collegiate World Champ and third in the Sombo World Championships in France.
                Robinson has remained active in the sport at the local level by offering wrestling clinics and coaching for two years at Kinkaid High School and Middle School.  He has also worked on the national level as a coach for the Freestyle and Greco Texas National Team.  He has worked with fighters around the country who fight in the King of the Cage, IFL, WEC and UFC.  His energy is contagious, his style is intense and aggressive and his ability to motivate and develop athletes in unmatched.  His knowledge and technique is invaluable and he should be considered an asset to anyone who trains with him.

» Assistant Instructor - Muay Thai:

Ali Alhalabi

Ali Alhalabi has been training in the martial arts his entire life.  He began in Jordan and reached 4th Dan Black Belt in Kickboxing.  Later he went on to pursue Muay Thai, studying under Grandmaster Woody in Thailand achieving the Krew degree.
With his training he was later given the distinction to train the Jordan National Team from 2003 to 2007.  Under his coaching, the Jordan National Team achieved 1st place in the Arab Championship in 2006.  In 2007, Ali was the representative of Jordan in the 2007 World Tournament in Morocco.  In 2008, Ali coached his state for Thaiboxing and won the tournament.  Through Ali’s coaching, his team went on to win more than 60 medals in kickboxing and Muay Thai tournaments.
