History:

Hoger Mixed Martial arts is a combination of the four styles that Sam Hoger has practiced throughout his life and later combined into an effective martial arts system that works in all combat arenas.

The first art which he practiced was Karate from the age of 6 until he was 13. During this time Sam was able to develop the discipline and drive to pursue the martial arts and continue to build on his foundation.

Later, with the rise of popularity of the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Sam Hoger wanted to challenge himself to see if it was truly the effective style that it had proven to be in many arena’s of combat. After being beat multiple times by opponents both larger and smaller than him Sam Hoger decided that this art would be the next study he would purse. Sam Hoger still practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to this day and teaches it because of its highly effective principles that are based on leverage and positioning.

After doing well in competitions and mixed martial arts matches Sam went and joined the Miletich Fighting Systems in Iowa to pursue mixed martial arts professionally. Sam had a successful career receiving multiple belts and fighting on the world’s biggest stage for martial arts the UFC.

Sam Hoger later moved to Texas and opened an affiliate of Miletich Fighting Systems and with Pat’s blessing Sam moved to open his own school, Hoger Mixed Martial Arts.
